Re: Synchronise two similar audio tracks
@waxycylinder - yup, that's what I've been doing, and immediately I thought, why isn't a computer doing this for me, with precision accuracy and quicker! Because until you tell the computer precisely where you want to place it in track-1 with a label then the poor old 'puter has no bloomin' idea of...

Re: Simple Copy/Paste question - Please Help!
You may find it helpful to mark the exact place in the top track with a label ( position the cursor there and use Ctrl+B ).
Then when you slide the bottom track along it should get sticky as the start of the track approaches the label, you should see a vertical yellow line.

Re: Live Music Editing Tips?
One of the other really good thing about those Sennheisers is that apparently you can buy replacement parts for them, so repairs ar doable - I've not had to take advantage of that (touch wood) and I've been using them for over 12 years now. I do note though that the 4AAs seem to come with a lifetime...

Re: Live Music Editing Tips?
Koss Pro-4AA are something of a gold standard, but I'm not sure you can get them any more. We have Pro-3As at work and they seem OK, but you can't wear either one for long periods without it being uncomfortable. The Sennheiser non-sealed types are OK, but traditionally are shy on bass. I sometimes ...

Re: Synchronise two similar audio tracks
What you need to do is to look for a significant isolated short sharp sound event that can be identified in both soundtracks and then use that to line up the two tracks (think clapperboards in the movie industry, where that are used to sync the action and the sound). You will need to zoom in on the ...

There is no "silent" recording of computer playback on Windows Vista and later because there is now no "Speaker" or "Master" system volume slider independent of the "wave" output slider. The Master output slider is the one you could turn down on XP without af...
