Steve: are you planning to write a proposal for this - oy maybe planning to implement it?
I'm assuming it doesn't need transferring to the Wiki - do you need it archiving here?

Re: How to increase FFT resolution?
But if it's logged on Bugzilla it already has focus to avoid it being forgotten.
I propose to archive this thread in the "In-Depth Feature Discussions Archive" section - and provide a link from Bugzilla to the thread - any naysayers?
Peter.

Re: Audacity could be more helpful when paused ...
Let's remember the reason for starting this thread - it wasn't about the ability to do "stuff" while paused (how many folk actually want/need to do that?) - it was about helping hapless folk like the thread linked to in the initial post who can't figure out why "stuff" doesn't wo...

Re: USB Recording input volume set low to get to-6 dB
If one only had the USB turntable, wouldn't the RCA cables of the turntable be suitable for connecting to the RCA inputs of the ART (just make sure the phono/line switches on turntable and ART were set the same way)? Yes but (and this is a big but) you will probably still end up with a poor quality...

Greying out provides an instant visual indication if a particular function is available or not ... But it's quite clear that user's either do not "see" the graying out - or they do not understand the import of that visual cue ... If a function is greyed out, then there is no "on clic...

Audacity could be more helpful when paused ...
Yet another user who got confused when stuff doesn't work when in Pause mode - see: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=72554 This has happened many, many times before - I have to confess to getting caught out by this myself occasionally ... I always think that it would be ...

Any other suggestions? Is the USB TT your only turntable? Do you have an older hi-fi analog turntable available? If so then considerer junking the USB TT and buying something like the ART USB Phono Plus - see: http://artproaudio.com/discontinued_products/discontinued_products/product/usb_phono_plus...

I always think that it would be a bit more useful if Audacity actually told the user why a particular tool is unavailable rather than just graying it out in those circumstancesEMcGrath wrote:Thank you! I was pausing vs. stopping.

Re: Color of track name in waveform
I think there may be a little developer resistance to garish colour differences in tracks or clips ... You mean as opposed that that "garish" yellow-on-gray that we currently have? 8-) WC P.S. The only yellow-on-gray that has ever worked for me was the original 1990 HD Fat Boy: http://www...
