Re: Need mark in TimeLine when recording
Ctrl+B marks the current cursor position or selection Ctrl+M marks the current playback or recording position See this page in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html And apologies, we know that is on overlong and clumsy page - we're working on improving it for the next r...

Re: The excellent choice Between: sample formats & Sample Ra
Am I right in assuming that you will be distributing via CDs? If so that I would work with Audacity set at its default 32-bit floating 44100 Hz - and then when exporting the final product down-sample by exporting to WAV at 16-bit 44100 Hz (the Red Book CD standard) with either shaped or triangular d...

Re: Improving "Clip Fix"
A recent [email protected] correspondent who uses Repair heavily has suggested that it might "lock" the selection when it reaches 128 samples (or whatever the maximum is) rather than keep nagging with a warning each time you select too many samples. I'm not sure about that ... I'm not sure that's...

Re: Thank you, Audacity Team!
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for the donation - appreciated. The other approach you could have used, provided the damaged audio was less than 128 samples would be to select the damaged audio and then use Effect > Repair This will interpolate a new waveform for the selection based on the surrou...

And do make sure you haven't got "Snap To" turned on - look at the bottom left of the Audacity window - and see this in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/se ... .html#snap

Re: AUP files missing audio data
I meant the fact that Audacity plays dumb when you try and import the AUP file rather than just go ahead and open it in a new window. And it should let you drag an AUP file in, similarly, and have it open in a new window. You will probably recall that I am one of those who firmly believes that a st...

Re: AUP files missing audio data
... AUP is not an audio file like WAV. It is not very user-friendly but this is how it works Well it both isn't and is user-friendly :) The non-unitary structure may not be obvious but it was developed that way for speed of processing. Our users would be very unhappy and find Audacity very use-unfr...
