Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more
An interface with nine techy-labelled controls is really not on for Grandma. If you think you can educate the next Grandma that needs help with Silence Finder, I'll pass her on to you instead. :o Can you chaps stop being so ageist :) I'm a grandpa - and I can cope with all this stuff... 8-) Peter

Re: exports to itunes
IIRC iTunes has no facility to add artwork to WAV files - you need to convert to AAC or MP3 and then you can copy in artwork.
Have a look at this workflow from the manual - you may find it useful: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sa ... tunes.html

Re: Sound / Silence Marker
And the fact that it takes 11 minutes or so to SF analyze a two hour file That's strange. Nyquist is usually much faster on Windows than on Linux, and it takes less than 5 minutes here. Unfortunately I don't think that I can make it faster, though hopefully I can make it more worth the wait. It's m...

Re: Sound / Silence Marker
I would and indeed do: 1) label the silences - currently I do this by eye and by hand (rhetorical) Why don't you use the Silence Finder for that? Because I want to avoid false-positives. [rhetorical] Good reason? 8-) And the fact that it takes 11 minutes or so to SF analyze a two hour file when I c...

Re: Sound / Silence Marker
What I quoted about Ion/Numark's reasons for dropping Audacity is public knowledge - see for example http://audacityteam.org/download/bundlers#playback . Their representatives told me several times that they were getting "hundreds" of complaints a week about Audacity. Exaggeration or not,...

Re: Sound / Silence Marker
What do the experienced users writing here who shun Silence Finder and Sound Finder do instead? Well if there are no track lengths given with the LP then I use Ctrl+M as I am recording to place an approximate marker which I can adjust later. Actually sometimes I zoom in and slide the label to the c...

Re: Sound / Silence Marker
[From a documentation point of view, how difficult would it be: 1) IF we had a "sound finder" that worked reliably at marking songs with region labels, to update the documentation to recommend region labels? 2) Do you see advantages / disadvantages in doing so (other than the time and eff...
