Re: demo

Try downloading it from the authorized location: http://audacityteam.org/download/

You have either not downloaded Audacity or downloaded it fro a site that charges (or tries to charge) for it. From our own site the download is free and definitely not a demo.

Re: hyperlinking labels

I read here that there were some plans to work on labels in Audacity. perpetua: thanks for the nudge for making me mosey over to that proposal page. I think that at least two of the enhancements have been implemented already: 1) Labels retained when they define the edge of a selection for which the...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

I began with a personal project to transfer 3 cassette tapes to my iPod. I completed part of that task yesterday when I moved Tommy by the Who to my iPod. Re: I really need help with this - not sure where to ask.

Basically you need to import each of the songs onto its own track - line them up with the Time Shift tool with overlaps and then apply crossfades. Having done that you can then export a 16-bit WAV file of the project and burn it to a CD. Sounds simple - but you've got a steep learning curve for a fo...

Re: loss of recording quality after a few seconds

I'd be inclined to turn back on the "DC offset correction" - this will ensure your signal is centred on zero. If you don't do it in hardware there you would probably need to do DC offset removal in Audacity (with the Normalize tool) immediately after capture and before any editing. It will...

select by clicking and dragging in the blue waveform and not in the timeline above it - or use the Audacity selection toolbar at the bottom of the window to set the required timings for selection

http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/au ... eform.html

use File > Export Selection
