Re: I'm paranoid. Help.
So does that make the quality outcome of iTunes encoder better? There's discussion about that. Koz I think the conversions are done quicker in iTunes (I export WAVs to ITunes and use iTunes to convert to AAC) And it definitely makes it legal - I some jurisdictions the patents have not expired ... Re: Zooming - Multiple Tracks
Just move the cursor to the bottom of a track, you will see a little up/down arrow appear (indicating that you can move that boundary) click there and drag downwards.

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
Let's try and get this straight - the only thing iTunes can import is a CD's contents. And that is a proper Red Book CD either commercially pressesd or one that has been burnt by you our someone else suing CD burning software (such a disc will have a single stream of data, the audio, and a small TOC...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
You can split the Audacity project with point labels, add the song title on the labels. That is all the metadata that will come through (at least with Amadeus) Add all the rest of the metadata in iTunes . Agreed. This is my workflow which I documented in a tutorial for the manual (and tweaked with ...

Re: Recording with Dolby C
[quote="kozikowski"] ... No other noticeable effects. [quote] Except that they were noticeable, especially with the best commercially available tapes. When I bought my Nak (Pre-configured for TDK-SA) I did careful listening tests with Dolby-C and -B. I hated -C it made the music sound life...

Re: Recording with Dolby C
eBay has several Dolby B/C decks listed - I searched on "dolby c cassette deck" There's a couple of nice looking NADs for less than a hundred bucks an Nakamichi BX-1 (the model I have and love) for $125 Happy hunting And you can always sell it on after you've finished your transcriptions ....

Re: Playback of album - plays both sides simultaneously
This is the advice from the Audacity Manual: Start your recording by pressing the red Record button from the Transport Toolbar, then starting the player. You can pause and restart the recording between tracks or sides with the blue Pause button, which keeps your recording on one track within Audacit...
Re: demo
So what happens if you record from somewhere, or even record silence, and then play that back - do you still get the "demo"?
What I'm getting at is maybe that audio file is suspect - where did it come from?
