Re: Editing/Highlighting Issue

You've (probably accidentally) selected the Multi-tool - click on the Selection Tool (the I-beam) - see this page in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tools_toolbar.html

Re: Bandwith limited when ripping vinyl

In fact the #1 reason I wanted to play vinyles it's because of the Loudness War you must know I presume... So yeah, the vinyl is not yet dead :D Now there's something I can (partly) agree with you on. It's not all bad - I have a re-mastered Donovan CD which is breathtakingly excellent. On the other...

Re: Bandwith limited when ripping vinyl

2nd question: Why the vinyl sound better? Or is it just psychological too? This recent thread contained a discussion related to this query: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=74937&hilit=vinyl As I stated there, for my money the fabled "warmth" of Vinyl versus CDs ...

Re: Suggestion: Repair Limits

Why sub-optimal? The movement of the mouse would drag the 128 bit frame around, so you would exactly know what region the repair is applied to. Because as discussed earlier in this thread, a skilled user will often carefully choose a smaller number of samples (sometimes much smaller than 128) to ef...

Steve who works on this forum is in the process of developing a new plug-in called Album Track Marker (working title) this may help you, I have been testing this for him. He may be prepared to send you a Beta copy.

Re: EDIT/PREFERENCES/RECORDING/OK PER PROJECT

...PROBLEM: Edit/Preferences/Recording/OK with checks on Overdub and Sound Acitvated Recording is a required step on the Audacity home page for each project from Youtube. Can you point us at which particular piece of Audacity documentation is in (web-link would be useful) - as normally both Overdub...

Re: Suggestion: Repair Limits

... there was a suggestion that larger sections could be repaired as a sequence of 128 sample length blocks. Initial tests indicated that this might work, but as yet it has not progressed much more than that. The question then is just where do you start the processing and what order do you continue...

Re: Suggestion: Repair Limits

The only problem that I see with this is that there is a potential conflict with the preference option to "Select all if no audio selected". Since, with "Repair", it is very likely that selecting all audio will result in an error, I don't think that it is unreasonable for "...
