Re: Can't hear Audacity recording or playback

Re: Any option to group installed plug-ins?

... As Audacity is a free program, its resources come primarily from the time, effort, skills and money that users donate. My understanding is that if any user felt strongly enough to want to pay, probably at commercial rates, an Audacity developer for a new or modified feature then it would probab...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks

Ahhh useful feedback there Steve :ugeek: - thanks for that - and this is me writing that down - as Koz says :) I'll do some experimenting with my next FM capture... Peter I like that so much that I wrote in down in the (2.0.6) manual on the Noise removal page: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Noi...

Re: Imported song getting cut off

Why not use Audacity to do the whole schmear - recording as well as all the other stuff. ION used to ship Audacity with their USB TTs and tape decks for the task - nut many of their users complained "it's too hard - Audacity's too complicated" so they produced/acquired a dumbed-down tool i...

- People are far more likely to complain than to compliment, so I suspect that you will always have a vocal disgruntled minority and a silent satisfied majority with categories. Actually solanus it was mainly Audacity testers, QA, documenters (mainly power users) who complained about the increased ...

Re: Any option to group installed plug-ins?

As one of the people who voted against the original test implementation of tiered categorizations of effects, I would like to reverse my vote - at that time it was to reduce the clicking required to get to any favourite effect. Now that we have the ability to bind favourite effects to keyboard short...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3

Well that's certainly how I worked for three weeks 15 eps when the BBC broadcast on R4 a serialization of Le Miserables.

Each day a different project, any necessary editing, then immediately export a production WAV file (and back it up) - then discard the project.

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks

You can get rid of almost all FM hiss by dropping stereo. Does your receiver do that? Yes it does have a mono setting (and I did realize that that removed the hiss) - but I was kind of hoping to retain the two stereo channels so I can retain stereo images - those BBC engineers are rather good in th...

Re: Automatic removal of mouth smacks

@Steve: might I be better, for removal of FM hiss, to use a notch filter?

Peter.
