Re: Stereo imbalance
Try using the Pan slider in the Track Control Panel - see this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audio_tracks.html#panel Otherwise you can split the stereo track then use Amplify or Normalize on each channel independently and then re-join the stereo track - but this is a bit t...

Re: 64-bit recording issue
Make sure that you have got Software Playthrough tuned off in the Transport Menu otherwise you will get feedback. See this page in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/transport_menu.html This tutorial from the manual may be useful too: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recor...

Re: Any option to group installed plug-ins?
@Solanus: if you have a small group of effects that you want to experiment with at any one time you could always consider setting temporary keyboard shortcuts for them, as that will make access to them quick and easy. BTW if you are up for using the alpha version of 2.0.6 then you will find t...

Re: Any option to group installed plug-ins?
Sorry if I seem like I'm ranting. This isn't "ranting" - this is debate, and useful debate too :) Also for the record, like Steve I too am in favour of grouping plugins and structured/tiered effects as the list is quite long now. But as Steve pointed out the original test implementation i...

Re: Can't hear Audacity recording or playback
Basically your computer is trying to use the USB device for output as well as input - so you need to reset the output device to be your speakers.

Re: Restore Audacity to Default Settings
I am terrible with computers but what do you mean the .exe (not from the zip) mean? On the Sourceforge download page: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows you get the choice to "run the installer" which is an .exe file, an executable image (a program essentially) or you can use the zi...

Re: Restore Audacity to Default Settings
And it would be *much* better if we had a "Reset Preferences" function as we have been asking for for a long time now.

Re: Restore Audacity to Default Settings
It certainly does on Windows 7 if you install from the .exe (not from the zip).
There is a checkbox in the install dialog that need to be checked for the reset to be initiated.
