Re: stop recording

you can use the Timer Record function to facilitate this - see this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/timer_record.html Note that you would need to initiate the recording prior to the needle drop - and allow an extra buffer at the end unless you know exactly how long the LP is...

Re: None of my recordings will load

Hi there I have read all through that but I'm still really struggling here. I read that the structure of the parts should be as follows A folder called my_song_data within that folder there should be the .aup file called my_song.aup still within that folder there should be a number of .au files cal...

Re: 2.0.2 on Vista - Clicking black merge line crashes Audac

If you know the steps to produce the split line in that place and that always produces a crash in a fresh project, please let us know. Very simple - you should know how the black line is produced - you work for Audacity. :) Just to amplify what Gale has said: when reporting a bug it is very importa...

Re: Difference between waveform and waveform (dB)

...when I record the waveform display makes it look like I am whispering even though it actually is pretty loud dB wise. At the same decibels according to the waveform (dB) view and when I've amplified it to a top of -1 dB, it still looks pretty tiny. it sounds loud in my headphones but I am confus...

Re: clicks and pops in V2.0.5

1.5GHz, Core Solo? That's not a very powerful machine. Are you trying to overdub? Is your drive internal? Close everything you have running or "sleeping" in the Dock. Gather up the thousands of icons you have on the desktop and stuff them all into one Folder. Really close Skype. Did it ge...

Re: clicks and pops in V2.0.5

I can go back to 2.0.4, I never had 2.0.3. 2.0.4 seemed to work just fine for me except the record hangs every now and again, not a big deal but I thought 2.0.5 would fix that. This is why I upgraded. I guess by your reply this is a known bug. There was a bug that got introduced after 2.0.4 into th...

Re: Is it possible to run a script?

Does Audacity 2.0.5 auto-save and shut down once a recording completes or not? No sorry, that's another one of the feature requests that I put in the proposal I wrote a while back - see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Proposal_Timer_Record_Improvements It's item 8 of the proposed features - and ...

Re: Audacity doesn't complete conversion to MP3

Do you need MP3 as the finished product? Can we help you convert from OGG to MP3 after exporting OGG from Audacity? What player are you producing these MP3s for Pauline? I'm thinking similar to Gale, but getting you to export WAV files and convert those outside Audacity to whatever format is best f...
