Re: Continuous Background Hum - EZCAP cassette
Hi. I have the EzCAP audio cassette capture unit too. I discovered what the hum was. I had the volume turned all the way down on the cassette player and that is what was causing the horrendous hum while trying to capture audio. Which probably means that the hum is still there but at a much lower le...

Re: recording not working after upgrade to windows 7
Try either plugging in the USB device first and then starting Audacity.tepaw wrote:how do you confirm "audacity recording device is set to Numark USB Audio Codec"?
Or in Audacity use: Transport > Rescan Audio Devices

This tutorial in the Manual should help you with the audio part: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... puter.html
But Audacity is purely an audio editor so will not help you with the video clips ...

Re: MINIDISC recording help required
There are some USB soundcards that will accept a digital input (thus avoiding the need to go from Digital => Analog => Digital with possible data losses). My old Edirol UA-1EX does that, that's one of the reasons I bought it for my MiniDisc transfers - unfortunately it is no longer manufactured, tho...

Re: How to change frequency of a track to less than 1000 Hz?
I've just learned to live with mine, I noticed a few years back listening tp a Mozart chamber piece. I thought I've never heard that high-pitched whine on this CD before - what's wrong with the hi-fi - but it was me not the hi-fi :( I don't bother with frequency filtering - I just turn it up...

Re: New and lost...
Oh and make sure you are using the latest Audacity (Vn 2.0.5) the kit manufacturers often ship older, out if date, versions. You can get the latest version from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/

Re: New and lost...
You'll be better off discarding the kit manufacturer's instructions (many are just plian wrong) and use the Audacity manual instead - see this set of tutorials: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_copying_tapes_lps_or_minidiscs_to_cd.html especially this one (if yours is a USB device): htt...

Re: Dividing one long track into smaller tracks
I am recording from a Fisher MT715 turntable, out of the headphone output of a Technics stereo receiver, SA-GX170, in through the mic input of my laptop, bypassing the EQ for authentic sound. You will almost certainly get a better signal if instead of using the headphone output on the Technics you ...
