Re: How to apply a specific effect

Try this YT tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8BZz62Z ... WS&index=7

We link to it from the Audacity Wiki which links to a couple of other useful voice effects - see here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Categ ... ce_Effects

Re: Selecting and deleting audio between labels. [SOLVED]

I still tend to the view that we should retain a simple non-region Silence Finder (given the large number of rank beginners we have who want to mark tracks in tapes and records) but have a bells and whistles Sound Finder with an option to find silent regions. I recall tha Steve was working, a while...

Re: Sound recorded under 0 dB

You have significant DC offset on your signal

Use Normalize rather than Amplify as it has an option to remove the DC offset - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/normalize.html

Re: Are you able to tell which recorder is better?

Since you are recording streaming audio I would suggest trying using the WASAPI as your Audio host - see this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html and select the "loopback" input device. My understanding is that has less Windows "fiddling" ...

Re: Artifacts created when using RIAA Equalization

At some point, I'll have to give up on this and buy some new stuff. I really need a clean pre-amp and a digitizer - ideally a standalone digitizer like the Alesis. My budget is limited (2 kids in college.) I recommend having a good look at the ARTcessories USB Phono Plus - see: http://artproaudio.c...

And I can confirm he plays a pretty mean fiddle too - I've seen him play with one of his bands a couple of times :)

Re: Changing Usernames?

Hello? Are you there? We are all volunteers and we all have other Audacity responsibilities than the Forum. I changed your name. Let's have a bet. How long would it take Adobe customer service to respond to your requests? You had your name changed in 16 hours. Gale Probably about 24 hours because o...

Re: Equalize Playlist

Audacity can (sort of) but it's hard work that way - rather use the functionality in iTunes that does that for you. Go to Edit > Preferences >Playback in iTunes and check the box that says "Sound Check"
