Re: importing mp3 fille error which can play on windows media player

We believe that we have fixed this for the upcoming 3.0.0 release which we are hoping to release by early February (right now we still have a couple of high priority P1 bugs to clear up).

Re: Start playing tracks on a second project...

With an older version of Audacity, while, say, I was playing tracks on Project 1, I could click the play button on Project 2. This would automatically stop Project 1 from playing, and let me continue on Project 2. No sorry, that's just the way it is now. We changed it several releases ago so that t...

Thanks ...especially to the excellent documentation for Audacity.
Thanks for that feedback Lyndon (I am the current Manual editor) good to hear. 8-)

To wear my obsessive hat for a second, I export any original performance as WAV before I do anything to it. I have never lost a paid gig.

Re: Help with reducing 2 loud SCUFF sounds on a recording for a Christmas Gift

I used Multi-vie for combined Spectogram and waveform view (you can select that by clicking in the track name toi get the track's dropdown menu) Scuff.png The bright red shows clearly the extent of the scuff - so I selected that and then used Ctrl+K to delete that section Scuff deleted.png I then zo...

What Bill says.

Alternatively, click on the "Select" button in the panel on the left end of the track.
Or double click in the waveform in the track

Re: Audacity on Big Sur

So far, so good...except one problem: the playback indicator/bar used to move steadily across the screen regardless of how much I'd zoomed in. Now, when I zoom in, it "ticks" from point to point. This does not affect playback sound...but it means that I have less visual feedback of exactly where th...

Re: Audacity on Big Sur

Using the Time Shift Tool was definitely giving me problems. I could highlight the clips, but many times I just couldn't time shift them. A little cursing and some random clicking around (but usually rebooting) Audacity would get it to work. Have you got the preference for " Editing a clip can move...
