Re: Low Volume when recording from vinyl
It seems like a rather big investment for something I will use very rarely... So, do you have a hi-fi rig with a preamp/amp? Given that you have that turntable I'm guessing that may so. In which case connect the TT to the phono input of the rig and take output from the Tape-out of the rig and feed ...

Re: Low Volume when recording from vinyl
From what I can see of the specs online I'm guessing that this TT does not have an inbuilt pre-amp, right? If it does you will be able to switch between phono and line output, you would need the Line-level output. Otherwise you will need a phono pre-amp - these not only amplify to line-level but als...

Re: Opening hundreds of .au files
Is there any particular reason you want/need to use 1.2.5 - it's absolutely ancient now - the latest version is 2.0.6 which you can get from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/twj wrote:Hi, I use 1.2.5 ...

Re: How to make a musical medley?
Import all the songs in Audacity and they will appear above each other on the timeline and play at once. Use the Time Shift Tool (two black sideways arrows) and the Envelope Tool (two white arrows and bent clue line) to put each song in the right place and fade each song in and out. or you can sele...

Re: Why line-level input is a better option than usb?
... I will try to cancel my order of the UCA222 and first determine if the line-level is too noisy on my PC before adding and trying a new device. If you do end up acquiring one you will find that you will have a device that should work on any or all computers that you own. My Edirol UA-1EX sound c...

Re: Why line-level input is a better option than usb?
I changed the following sentence to read: If you choose this approach, you will need a cable that has dual RCA red/white plugs at one end (for connecting to the "aux out", "tape out" or "record" jack of the device) and a stereo 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) plug at the other end (f...
