Re: Recording album at max but no clips

Sometimes extreme peaks can occur due to clicks/pops on the record (scratches cat-hairs etc.). When transcribing my LPs my first step after capture was to export a 32-bit WAV and process that through Brian Davies' ClickRepair and then reimport that back into Audacity for further processing - see thi...

Re: Auto labelling - possible?

If this is to be a new command "Autolabel at playback position" then I still think it should be in the Tracks Menu for discoverability (or perhaps in a new "Labels" menu). Good thinking. Or to keep things simpler we could always just numerically autolabel with each use of Ctrl+M...

Re: Auto labelling - possible?

Re: Auto labelling - possible?

and personally I'd opt for simple ascending numeric labelling I agree that ascending numeric labelling is a good choice that is likely to suit most use cases, but even that is not completely "simple". Should it count: 0, 1, 2, 3 .... or 1, 2, 3, 4 .... or 001, 002, 003 ... or something el...

Re: Weak positive input from Nakamichi BX-300

A friend talked about azimut settings (not sure what it is but beleive it has something to do with the alignment of the playback head) which could be the issue. The Wiki article for which I posted a link for you discusses azimuth settings: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_from_Cassette#A...

Re: Tape Deck Sound Not Registering (Flatline)

At least a couple of related things: 1) the Audacity input you should be using should be using I s not "stereo mix - that's for recording whatever is playing on the computer (try playing any audio from websites or iTunes and record with those settings and you'll see what I mean). Ideally you sh...

Re: Auto labelling - possible?

Yes we could provide 'some' additional options, but that returns to my original question - how far do we take it? (and who decides which options to include and which to leave out, given that whoever developed the current Ctrl+M feature has already made their decision about that). As is usual, the A...

No, as many times and as many different formats as you like
