Re: Export options visibility

That doesn't look any more ridiculous than "Click to Start Monitoring" in the recording meter, IMHO. Just goes to show that you can't please everyone ... ;) Personally I find that message in the inactive recording meter far from "ridiculous" - it's informative and a good label &...

Re: How Do You Keeping Monitoring On Permanently?

You can turn monitoring on/off by clicking in the recording meter.

It's not exactly obvious so for the upcoming 2.1.0 release an inactive recording meter will carry a clear message to indicate that clicking turns it on:

Re: Record several different audio files without 'pause'

If I understand you correctly I think you need to turn on Sound Activated Recording in the Transport Menu

See towards the bottom in this page of the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tr ... _menu.html

Re: trouble in Audacity land

I'd start with this smaller bit of the Manual - not entirely small, but it's the bit you need ;) http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_copying_tapes_lps_or_minidiscs_to_cd.html This bit will be particularly useful: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/burning_music_files_to_a_cd.html I'm bet...

Re: Recording album at max but no clips

I normally keep my recording about 65 level and keep the meter between -3 and -6dB In the tutorials we recommend aiming for a maximum recording level of -6dB which corresponds roughly to 50% on the linear waveform display. That is is plenty strong enough signal to record and work with - you can amp...

Re: Edit out deadair, Burn CD from Audacity project

I need to edit out some dead air at end of recording and don't know what "Cut" or "Clip" mean, nor how to use them, or even if they are correct to edit out dead air. I am afraid to lose what I have recorded and have to record it over again. Just select the dead air you want to r...

Re: Recording album at max but no clips

I would suggest though trying Audacity's latest click removal provided by Paul L (not available when I was converting my LPs) - see this thread: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=79278&hilit=click I think you will need to use the alpha test version of Audacity for this unti...
