Re: iTunes Import Problem

...Um, I don't understand the replies. It doesn't matter what show or album the song was from, or whether or not it was mastered for iTunes. What matters is that every AAC song in my iTunes Library, when imported into Audacity, shows up as this piece of **** waveform, completely ruined. I don't und...

Re: reset Preferences CFG file

My simple workaround now is to place a shortcut on my desktops (main user and Audacity test user) for the folder where the .cfg files are located for that user.

Simple then to get there and delete whichever .cfg (file(s) I need to delete :geek:

Re: Making a song go back to a specific time

What I would do is place a temporary label at that point - Ctrl+B will place a label at the cuttent cursor position, Ctrl+M will place a label at the current playing position. With the right level of zoom you can see the label and click there again - or with focus in the label track you can Tab whic...

Re: Changing Audacity background colour?

We had some basic theming a while back - but it got abandoned. The requisite code is still in the code base IIRC and can be activated of you compile Audacity yourself. But one of the senior developers is working on a pet project which will offer many customization opportunities - don't know likely t...

You need to have the audio running and you need to make sure that your Device Toolbar settings are correct for recording from the computer (make a small test recording) - then set Timer Record.

Re: How can I make Audacity run automatically at a certain t

(I dont want to have the PC speakers on at the time!) Then turn off Software Playthrough in the Transport Menu - See this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/transport_menu.html Though I deal with this by plugging in my external active speakers and turning the volume control on...

Re: Anolog - digital conversion process

Thanks Steve I can understand that in principle alright but what I have difficulty with is, in digital terms, is this information (full orchestra etc) stored in just one frequency reference point? It's not just digital it's the same in good old analog too - think about it. What is represented at an...

Re: Export options visibility

Personally I find that message in the inactive recording meter far from "ridiculous" - it's informative and a good label "on the tin" 8-) I meant I'm surprised Vaughan accepted something as "gross" as that. If you remember when James first provided a mock-up of the mes...
