Have a look at this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/ke ... ences.html
But what you can't do is to create a shortcut for any effect with your preferred settings. There is a Feature Request for that, would you like us to add your vote?

Re: How would you repair this audio clip?
if positive, the implication is that one must become really experienced at picking the noise, Not really - I just picked a gap that had no talking. My trick when I am doing this is: 1) select as Steve suggests 2) create a temporary range label for the selection 3) amplify the selection to 0dB maxim...

Re: using system mixer to set recording level
Sometimes streaming websites have volume controls for their webcasts. One that I record from invokes Windows Media Player to play the stream and I can control the signal level from there. I too have a Realtek Soundcard on my Toshiba Satellite laptop - with that, using WASAPI loopback, I can use the ...

Re: Advanced M3U Editing
Isn't it meant to be "General Audio Programming (excluding Nyquist) for use in or with Audacity"? Then maybe we should re-title it that way (or at least change its tagline), to make it clearer for future posters 8-) You know I like something that "does what it says on the tin" :...

Re: Sound
It's trying to get the sound back to 'normal' that's the issue :-( Sadly, that's a bit like trying to take the banana out of a banana milkshake ... The key learning that you should take away from this is to make backup copies of your project at varying known stages, particularly the raw capture. Us...

Re: Auto-Stop
This'll make you laugh ... Having set up a project for testing which I left with a couple of trivial tracks in pause mode - I then go back to it and try, and try, to delete the two tracks via their top-left X. The set me pondering for a while till I remembered I was only Paused ... :?

Re: Auto-Stop
We should have a Bugzilla issue and Wiki page for this I think. Probably a good idea Gale, just to keep some focus on it. Do you want me to try to find some time to kick that off? If you have time, please do. I think whether this works with editing shortcuts and where the cursor sets down when you ...

We should have a Bugzilla issue and Wiki page for this I think. Probably a good idea Gale, just to keep some focus on it. Do you want me to try to find some time to kick that off? After our discussion at AU14, Leland was all set to implement this - but somehow he got "sidetracked" on a to...
