Re: it starts playing when i add markers

You, Koz and Steve are also "not statistically significant" (sample size of three). Hahaha - yebbut we three are all semi-pro Audacity QA folk so maybe that carries a bit of weight ;) And don't forget Bill too - in terms of "Team" that's 4/14 or 28.5% So are you withdrawing from...

Re: it starts playing when i add markers

Yes almost certainly many more than two. But even given that your sample size of two is not "statistically significant" - I'm still betting that it still makes for a very small minority of our users 8-)

Re: it starts playing when i add markers

We do have to remember here that we have a user-base of many millions - and we really shouldn't be designing the GUI around the particular needs of two users - we need to always consider what is best for the majority of our users. And for my money protecting recording from an accidental halt is a hi...

Re: it starts playing when i add markers

@Gale: my reading of this is that between the three of us we have reached a compromise consensus: 1) Retain Ctrl+click in the timeline for a secondary Quick-Play 2) a Preference to turn Ctrl+click Quick-Play on/off 3) with the default = "off" 4) with Cltrl+click still able to interrupt rec...

Re: unable to record streamed music

You need to follow the link on that page to the Windows specific instructions: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html See also the Device Toolbar page: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/device_toolbar.html Or do you mean that you don't see WASAPI...

Re: unable to record streamed music

Yes, your best bet is to use WASAPI loopback in the Device Toolbar.

See this Tutorial in the Audacity Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tu ... puter.html

Re: Audacity 2.0.2 computer download failure

For a start do yourself a favour and upload the latest Audacity which is 2.0.6 from [email protected] http://audacityteam.org/download/windows And then rather than use the manual that your hardware supplied provided - use this set of tutorial from the Audacity Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutori...

Re: it starts playing when i add markers

Yes, aiding discoverability of CTRL + click is one strong advantage I see of making it a Preference for now. I think it's acceptable to have that Preference off by default. I can't quite bring myself to advocate CTRL + click should be prevented from stopping a recording if the user deliberately tur...

Re: Updated De-Clicker and new De-esser for speech

For many activities like this the utilty of the function is often far more important than the compute time involved. The important thing to do is to advise the user up-front how long the function might take on their currently selected audio, so they can decide whether or not to press ahead with it -...
