Re: New, tried but all songs washed together...
Sounds like you are recording one track at a time from the LP - much easier to record the whole side at a time and then split it up using labels and Export Multiple. When you hit Stop and the Record, Audacity will record on a second track below the one you've just Stooped. You can avoid this by usin...

Re: Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0
You mean it does not tell you what it's doing if you already saved a project before you Timer Record? Eaxctamundo Nor does it tell you, or indicate in any way, when setting up the TR that if your project is pre-saved then it will save the project on completion (or interventional Stop). To do that y...

I mean it doesn't tell you what it's doing - and thus it's not very discoverableGale Andrews wrote:I'm not sure what you mean. This sounds if it needs a new topic.waxcylinder wrote:The visual cues, sadly, are minimal to say the least

Re: Track Divider
No, but there are Sound Finder and Silence finder tools available from the Analyze menu - see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/analyze_menu.html One of the developers has been working on an Album Track Marker - but it's hard to avoid false positives in quiet passages (especially in classical mu...

Re: Audio files scrambled; project missing
When you next started Audacity it should have offered you a Recovery - did that not happen? See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/recovery.html The Manual has material on repairing damaged projects like yours but the process is not exactly easy. Timer Record automatic saving in Audacity 2.1.0
Split from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=267407#p267407 In the next 2.1.0 version of Audacity, recording a Timer Record into a saved project will automatically save the project when the recording ends or if you stop the recording early. Provided that you saved the project (normally ...

Unplug the USB audio device(s)
Reboot the computer.

Re: Very poor sound quality on export to M4A
I'll stick with the iTunes workaround. Given that your target player is iTunes I wouldn't regard doing this task in iTunes as a "workaround". :) I also use iTunes/iPod and my preference has always been to export WAVs from Audacity and let iTunes do the AAC conversion work, partly because ...
