There are USB soundcards that have gain controls.
I have an Edirol UA-1EX that does - but that is no longer in production. But I have seen others on Internet searches in the past.

Re: Changing from 2.1.2 to 2.4.2
The look and feel is very much the same, the basic user interface has remained unchanged for a long time now.
It's just that a few new features have been added and a lot of bugs have been fixed.

Re: Click/pop removal - ClickRepair software
How does DeClicker.ny compare with this old(?) software. Does it still exist ? Should it ? I can't comment on DeClicker.ny as I've never used it. I did use it extensively (eventually) when I was converting my vinyl LPs to digibits. I started out with assiduous manual click identification and carefu...

Re: Not a true uninstall/reset?
When I'm doing QA testing and I want to ensure virgin OOTB factory settings I do this by deleting the entire contents on my audacity settings folder (that's the folder where the *.cfg files are stored and the Macros too). As a QA tester I do it so often that I have a shortcut to that (hidden) folder...

Re: Exporting to WAV problem with dropout labels
If you already have a label track before you start then the dropout detector will create a new label track for its dropout labelling. Export Multiple always uses the topmost label track so will ignore the dropout label track - or you can just delete it afyer you have dealy with the dropouts. If you ...

Re: Multiple segments to MP3
If you make range labels for each of those three sections based on your timings and then use Export Multiple - Audacity will export just 3 MP3 files based on those range labels. The non-labelled sections will just be ignored by the export. See this page in the Audacity Manual: https://manual.audacit...

Re: What Filter Curve is this?
Adding this detail looks like a lot of developer effort for little real benefit. After all, you may not even want that preset in your next session, and if you do it's only a couple of clicks to re-select it. Adding this looks like just adding an extra parameet: Name=<xxxxx> If a Name exists that ge...
