Re: Removing "pops" when recording from an LP
Buy the CD or MP3!!!! ;) (If it's available.) Mostly, but not always, the best plan. One example: I bought an Emmylou Harris re-issue CD where the "re-mastering" and "loudness wars" stuff made the re-issue so poor that I went back to the damaged LP and processed it with ClickRep...

Re: Loop clik in Android Mobile
kire, something you might like to know is that for the next release of Audacity Steve has been doing a lot of work improving the Timeline Quick-Play functionality which will make creating seamless loops a lot slicker and easier.

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
And whatever nomenclature we give to the command(s) surely they should be in the Transport menu rather than the Edit Menu

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
How about "Transport Lock"? I think that it should apply to recording as well as playback. Nice idea - but I don't think it's quite right. I kind of conveys a total lock of the transport system - i.e. no playback and no recording. Perhaps if we made them one command, it could be called &q...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
Steve, I have some serious reservations about this mockup of a Transport Toolbar with a speed control: 1) It will be far too easy for users to accidentally nudge the slider (we already know that folk do this with the pan and gain sliders in the TCP). Fair enough that you do have the visual cue of th...

Re: Removing "pops" when recording from an LP
You can try Audacity's Click Removal effect - see this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/click_removal.html This section of a suggested workflow for LP digitization also has useful tips: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/sample_workflow_for_lp_digitization.html#clicks Reall...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
How about "Transport Lock"? I think that it should apply to recording as well as playback. Twiddling the nomenclature doesn't help imo - it doesn't resolve the issues that "Play from a point" is fundamentally different to "play from the start to end of a region and then sto...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
For me the problem is that a point is not a region. You might argue that a locked point is a locked region of zero length - in which case locking a "point" as a "play region" and then pressing play should logically play just the zero length region i.e. play nothing. However, if i...

Re: locked Play Region/cursor
As I said, I am only asking to consider if we need to add "lock from play position" (properly defined) as soon as it is reasonable to do so, not asking to go back to the previous "unconsidered behaviour masquerading as a feature". I have to be on the ball so we don't remove exis...
