Delete your pluginregistry.cfg, pluginsettings.cfg files and you Plug-Ins folder then restart Audacity.
In Widows you find them in: <username>/AppData/Roaming/Audacity
You'll also find that those duplicate entries screw up any shortcuts to those duplicated ones.

The other trick you can use when in the long effect menu is to type the first letter of the effect you require ...

I think you solved it. I didn't know about the pause vs. stop feature. What a stupidly obvious solution! As a long-time user I certainly know about it - and it still catches me out occasionally :oops: That's why I support this proposal that we have un the Audacity Wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org...
