Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
One solution to locking the Toolbar arrangement when you resize the window would be to rescale the Toolbars accordingly - are your eyes good enough to vote for that? I don't think my ageing ones are. And I don't think the VI folk amongst our user base (the partially sighted among them at least) woul...

Re: Lock tool bar arrangement
When I use Audacity for production work I normally run it a s a full screen window with full width meters (like you Cliff but my recording meter is 3/4 width and playback 1/4). But I also do a lot of testing and documentation work and quite often then I will work with a half-screen, or smaller, Auda...

Re: Song Direction
A good start Paul (but only a start) would be to fix Bug #1053 http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1053 where Gale suggest the left part of the Status Bar should say "Scrubbing" rather than "Playing" when in scrub mode (and possibly change to "Seeking" whil...

Re: Song Direction
You have put yourself in scrubbing mode - just press the Stop button to return to normality ... Hard to tell when you're in scrub mode as there is no proper or effective visual cue  There is a bug report for this - I have just added your tribulations here as a use-case. See: http://manual.aud...

Or you could chop out the bits you don't want to play and use Effect>Fade In and Effect>Fade Out (or better Effect>Studio Fade Out) at the beginning an end of the kept excerpts.

Re: How to create a preview of one hour long music mixes ?
Question, would this Zoom feature provide a fade in fade out effect for the songs. No, it would just play the audio as it is. If you wanted to get cleverer you could label the sections you want to preview - then use the envelope tool to raise and lower levels aour those sections - and then use tabb...

Re: How to create a preview of one hour long music mixes ?
You believe that the zoom feature is the ideal solution? I will download and provide my results. I believe the Quick-Play using the Timeline is your solution - the zoom just makes that a bit easier to move about the hour. Would this feature be included in the free download? All the features are pro...

Cute trick - this is me writing it down ...Gale Andrews wrote: And in this case, you can also tell it's not a point label because it has no vertical line in the waveform when the label has been selected. This is because we are too far zoomed out to display the region.
