Re: Song Direction
And what disappoints me most is that we have now missed the opportunity to fix these scrubbing issues for 2.1.2 - so we will issue a second release with a sub-optimal implementation of scrubbing

Re: Song Direction
I remind you the downside of present choices is restricting scrubbing to the select tool. I would like it to work in the multi-tool. But too many mouse clicks are already taken to do other things in that tool. What Steve says - and I can't for the life of me see why scrubbing shouldn't work whateve...

Re: Strange waveforms in Audacity
Why invest in producing batches of CDs when you can create a digital-download , delivered via t'internet , ( no up-front investment ). Because some of us "oldies" like to have the physical shiny disc and the accompanying "sleeve notes" to store on our shelves :) And note that ev...

Re: effects - amplification : to slow ?
On the timing tests I did for Audacity 2.1.1 Amplify showed a significant improvement over the 2.1.0 release - 14 secs versus 58 secs. And on 2.1.1 it showed to be significantly faster than Noise Reduction 14 secs versus 43 secs See attachment for full test results: http: Timing tests 2-1-1 RC2 7Jul...

Re: Song Direction
I do not propose to eliminate any features of the time ruler, but perhaps some key-modified or double clicks can be used there to redesign the scrubbing user interface. My *strong* advice would be to ignore use of the Timeline ruler for scrubbing - leaving the Timeline for QuickPlay and restricting...

Is there a Feature Request to be teased out or voted for in this long thread?

BUMP
Do I just need to archive this?
Is someone going to write a proposal for the enhanced Normalize?

Just had a look at your TT on t'interweb and I would suggest detaching the plastic cover while you are recording (keep any cats you may have well away from the deck while you are recording like this).

Re: stylus/turntable acting as mic, picking up background no
What Koz says - and a few points: 1) what is your TT sitting on? Is it a resonant surface, like say a wooden desk? The best cart/arm sound isolation I ever achiewved was in a house I owned a while back that had a big thick slate slab installed as a shelf next in the alcove next to the fireplace and ...
