Re: Desperate to Recover Data Folder
If you indeed have the aup backup file and all the au files then you may be in luck. You should rename the aup backup file to <your project name (whatever you called it) >.aup and put all the .au files in a folder called <your project name (whatever you called it) > - with the aup file and the data ...

Re: Uniform volume level across four song EP
Ray,
you may find this recent BBC show on compression and the Loudness Wars interesting - it'll only remain available for the next day or so.

Re: Audio Track display - shades of blue
The outer dark shade shows the peak level. The inner lighter shade shows the RMS level. Thanks man, Can someone point to where the two shades are described in the HELP manual, please. It is there in at least one place: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_waveform.html . Oh so there is, bu...

Re: Audio Track display - shades of blue
Can someone point to where the two shades are described in the HELP manual, please. They aren't yet (somewhat of an oversight) - But Steve's placed a ToDo for us to do it for the next release (the one after the upcoming 2.1.2). The page you'd expect to see it on is: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o...

Re: Is Windows WASAPI sound card dependent?
... I can't seem to find any info on how this Windows WASAPI works. This article from the Audacity Wiki explains a bit: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Multichannel_Recording#WASAPI Microsoft provides a lot of detail: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd371455%28v=vs.85%29....

Re: Vinyl with Behringer U-Control UCA202
That Accession looks a nice piece of kit Ifor, thanks for the link, most interesting.
A question for you are you also going to be using you pream and TT as an ongoing feed into a hi-fi rig or are you planning just to use it for transcribing vinyl to computer (just curious)?

Re: Vinyl with Behringer U-Control UCA202
eyepee you may be in luck ... I've just had a nice chat with a Mr John Cadman from the company that makes your Graham Slee preamp. He told me that they are about to launch the Accession range which is basically your pre-amp but with a gain control added. He said that depending on where and from whom...

Re: Vinyl with Behringer U-Control UCA202
Your expensive Graham Slee Reflex M phono preamp appears to have no gain control (fixed gain of 41.5dB), the UCA202 has no gain control either and as Gale points out "Mac's do not permit volume adjustment of USB audio devices" - all of which means thar is nowher in your signal chain where ...
