Re: Administrator approval
I think that the first and most important thing that we need is a more sensible default save/export directory. Personally I would class it as a "bug" that the default is a non-writable location. +1 I would call that a bug too. I don't think that it should be too dificult to make the "...

Re: Have 2 Audacities open at the same time?
"Solo button: Single track/Multi-track/None" might be clear enough. Clearer than now. I could buy that nomenclature, seems a lot clearer than what we have now - "does what it says on the tin" . We do need to remember that when existing users come round to installing the version ...

Re: Have 2 Audacities open at the same time?
I do that with two instances of the same show on different timelines, one above the other. It's possible to switch rapidly back and forth with the MUTE and SOLO keys. Command-D duplicate the show and only apply corrections to one of them. That was me writing that down Koz - most useful, thanks :) I...

Re: Administrator approval
From my own experience of Windows 10, most applications now automatically export/save to the Windows dedicated User “Libraries”, i.e. “Downloads”, “Documents”, “Pictures”, “Music”, and “Videos”. I'd like to see Audacity default to the Windows "Music" folder - that seems eminently more sen...

Is there any way we can fix that Gale? Should we be raising it on Bugzilla?Gale Andrews wrote:Except that Audacity often defaults to presenting you with its installation directory to save or export to, and users may not notice.
