I seem to recall that Paul Licameli wrote an effect for removing mouth smacks - but I can't find it right now - anybody?

Re: Updating OS X 10.6.8 to 10.11

I have a new MacBook Air coming. My existing MBP is perfect in every way but one. I'm doing more field work now and it weighs as much as a lorry/truck. It's "portable," quotes intentional. It's recognized as a lethal weapon by the State of California. My new MBP with non-rotating SSD disk...

Oh yes you are,it's quite simple and staightfoward - honest ;)

See this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/timeline.html#tqp

It's a very useful tool - you should find yourself using it a lot.

Re: Audio Scrubbing doesn't stop after releasing mouse butto

Everybody who comes over from either video editing or reel-to-reel editing is horrified that Audacity won't scrub. What Audacity does right now is Best-First-Pass. Not a finished tool. The good news is that the difficult under-the-hood stuff necessary to make scrubbing work has now been done, and t...

Re: Where have the Windows gone in 2.1.2?

Did you try scrolling your mouse pointer right to the top of the window and leaving it hover there for a moment. The menu bar drops down again becoming visible. To bring it back to normal, tap the green button again, in the top left.. Oooh - I'll try that (I'm still coming to terms with the menu ba...

Re: Audio Scrubbing doesn't stop after releasing mouse butto

Personally I find Steve's much improved Timeline Quick Play much more useful and usable than Scrubbing the way it is now - see this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/timeline.html#tqp

Everybody who comes over from either video editing or reel-to-reel editing is horrified that Audacity won't scrub. What Audacity does right now is Best-First-Pass. Not a finished tool. Indeed - and that's why there are currently two proposals outstanding relating to Scrubbing (and a number of bug e...

Re: Where have the Windows gone in 2.1.2?

... I've never seen the Window menu fail to be present in any previous versions, so it really threw me for a loop. Can you imagaine how it threw me - I acquired my first ever Mac on Saturday (for Audacity QA testing) get 2.1.2 installed run it and switched to full screen window - poooof! menu bar d...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

I would therefore suggest that Spectral Edit effects without a GUI should only be available when the track is in spectrogram view (and spectral editing is enabled), and that spectral edit effects that do have a GUI should have frequency controls so that: a) The current spectral selection, if it exi...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

Second, given Spectral Selection Toolbar won't be on to begin with, we still have the problem that there is no obvious reason to go into View > Toolbars to look for it as the way to turn global Spectral Selection on. So we are still hiding it very effectively, unless you realise Preferences is the ...
