Re: Error 404 for 2 pages in tuts

I just tested both links from the main page: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/

and from the Tutorials page: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorials.html

and the links work fine - so I'm puzzled ...

Re: Selections, Time Shfit Tool, and Label Tracks

BTW I have 6-10 custom hotkeys defined: one for Amplify (Alt+A), one for Silence (Alt+S), two for Fade-In and Fade-out ... Ed, you might want to try the Studio Fade Out that Steve wrote - for my money it gives a much better "professional sounding" fade than the simple linear Fade Out. See...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

Having Spectral Selection Toolbar enable spectral selection is still only half of the puzzle. It is not at all obvious to look in View > Toolbars to enable spectral selection, any more than it is to look in Preferences when there are already "Spectrogram Settings" in the Audio Track Dropd...

Re: HElp - Selecting audio on new 2.1.2

But you can drag and select off-window both leftwards and rightwards on Windows (W10 and W7 dormerly) - byr yes my new Mac with El Capitan will not allow me to drag select off-window.

Should this be logged as a bug for Macs on Audacity Bugzilla :?:

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

And we all agree that turning on Spectral Selection Toolbar should enable Spectral Selection. Correct? If we made that P2 too, we might get some developer discussion about how to make it easier to enable Spectral Selection globally, ... Well I would certainly support that - much more discoverable a...

Re: Selections, Time Shfit Tool, and Label Tracks

The ability to add LABELS `on the fly´ is a BIG feature , which I just discovered. And it works while recording too, not just playback. ;) Later on, you can go back and tweak/ adjust the handles (label marker pins) but the ability to `mark´ a spot in a lecture in real time is fantastic!! Just be ca...

When 2.1.3 gets released - we've only just released 2.1.2 and no timeframe is set for 2.1.3 yet but it will be at least three months.

Ctrl+B marks the current cursor position - you can also use Ctrl+M to mark the current recording/playback position.

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection

Paul IIRC is strongly against a Tool mode for spectral selection. I'm not keen either. Yes, but surely we can vote on Audacity Team to resolve such disagreements as to how things should be implemented. It should not just be down to the individual developer to make the call - QA (the "customer-...

Re: Updating OS X 10.6.8 to 10.11

I took a considerable hit in storage on the first one (128GB), but it was blistering fast, stable, cool and made no noise. Indeed this one's only 256GB - but that's more than sufficient for the Audacity testing work I need to do with it (and plenty of room for an iTunes library)- and yes it is cert...
