Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
even if it has not modified the "Enable Spectral Selection" checkboxes in the "Spectrogram Settings" and "Spectrograms Preferences". With my proposal, I think that those checkboxes become superfluous, which is a good thing as we agree they are confusing and not easily ...

Re: I keep having to reset toolbars on 2-1-2 :¬(
I sometimes get funny toolbar arrangements if I reduce the window size too much.
I can't reproduce horizontal or vertical scrolling problems on reduced window sizes on W10 with 2.1.2 or alpha 2.1.3

Re: Timer Record freezes but recording continues
I have to ask the basic question: why do you feel the need to use Timer record to capture Tapes and LPs? I assume so that it's so you can go away and leeave it unattended while you do something else - but surelylosingaccess to the controls while Timer Record is running is a big sacrifice. Certainly ...

Re: Free, Cross-Platform Sound Editor has Stopped Working
Just delete your Audacity.cfg file and then restart Audacity. See this page in the Manual for where to find the .cfg file: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/preferences.html#stored As a QA tester this is something that I have to do a lot - so on both my Windows and Mac systems I have set up a sho...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
We could go ahead anyway with a P2 that enabling Spectral Selection Toolbar should turn on Spectral Selection. It would force some thought about the difficulty of finding how to turn it on. I really don't want us to do that It's not really the Audacity way to use Toolbars to control functionality l...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
And Steve has the idea of Draw Tool turning Spectral Selection on when in a Spectrogram, if I understand correctly. And this is precisely what I have always been strongly against. If you recall that was the way that Paul effectively had it in the initial implementation. Actually he had it so that s...

Re: 2.1.2 weirdness with spectral selection
Ok so it seems that in QA we seem to agree: 1) we want a switch (afaict we've always wanted a switch), 2) hiding that switch away in Preferences is NOT a good idea. 3)two options are suggested for the replacement switch: 3.1) the presence/absence of the Spectral Selection Toolbar, 3.2) a button in t...
