I'm still seeing that problem with this page

I've been running 2.4.2 and the various alpha test build's I've had for the upcoming Audacity 3.0 with the following versions of Big Sur
1) macOS 11
2) macOS 11.1
3) macOS 11.2
4) macOS 11.2.1

all have been fine with Audacity.

Support for Opus has only very recently been added to Audacity, but unfortunately is doesn't work yet on macOS. So what is your setting in Recording preferences for "Record on a new track" ?

If that is checked "on", than yes recording will start in a new track.

You need Sync-locking.

It's because you have two label tracks - and the top one is empty.

Export Multiple always uses the topmost label track for export by labels.

Thanks ... still, it would be nice to be able to see the last setting(s) for an effect that was applied so that I know from where I'm starting when I make adjustments to the effect.

When you next open an effect Audacity should recall the settings that were in place when you last used it.

McAfee can be quite aggressive, and in the past we have heard reports of it interfering with Audacity.

I've had McAfee running on all the various PCs and the one Mac that I have, or have had, over the past 15 years of using Audacity and it has never "interfered".
