Re: "Remaining Time" doesn't decrease when exporting large f

I've tested this with Windows 10 on 2.1.2 and the latest 2.1.3 alpha nightly with a 2-hour show exporting to MP3. The green progrees bar moves correctly - and the Elapsed Time and Remaining Time are updated every second or two. So I'm puzzled at your report :? Like you I record three shows each week...

Re: How to dump a rom with Audacity

The PDP stayed. It was running RSX, a strange mixture of PC/M and Unix. And GEM, a graphical environment that was just too early. Never ever crashed. Had something like 4 MB of ram, which was an awful lot, way back then. The Project leader for RSX-11M was the great Dave Cutler - who went on to lead...

Re: Making an acapella track

You can try the Vocal Reduction and Isolation effect and select the Action: "Isolate Vocals"

See this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/voca ... ation.html

Whether it works or not depends on the way it was recorded/engineered.

Re: Problems with the new Noise Reduction replacing Noise Re

I'm with Koz and Paul here - in much preferring the new Noise Reduction over the old effect. I use Noise Reduction 3 times a week for pro-bono professional purposes to clean up captures of webstreams from Dublin City FM for a couple of DJ friends of mine so they can post "Listen Again" ver...

Re: Upgrading from V1.3

The latest 2.1.2 works fine on my Windows 10 laptop ever since i migrated from W7 back in December. Th only small comromise I had to make was to revert my old Edirol UA-1EX USB soundcard from its Advanced mode to its normal basic mode (and that's only because it's obsolete and the manufacturers will...

Re: Snap To for 33-1/3 LPs

Are you talking there about Audacity or ClickRepair? Quite clearly Rusty is talking about Audacity. ClickRepair doesn't have labels or do anything with them. It is very focussed tool that takes in an audio file, processes it to remove clicks&pops, then spits out a cleaned-up audio file. WC

Re: re: Disable Gain and Pan sliders

I am not sure if customisations are needed to the Track Control Panel other than toggling Gain and Pan. I'm not sure that is James' view - I seem to recall that he has plans for a major overhaul of the Track Control Panel. # We saw an early draft at AU14 - but after that nothing has yet seen the li...

Re: Mute and unmute microphone while recording?

Maybe what plbio needs is an effect which is the opposit of Truncate Silence I.e. one which would detect a short silence and expand it out to "n" (parametrisable) seconds, 5 in this user's case. Then they could record each prompt with a one-second or half-second gap and have those gaps aut...
