Re: Newbie needs help ripping vinyl
My 2c worth My first major use of Audacity was to convert my vinyl collectionn (and subsequently my wife's vinyl collection). The objectives were to produce good quality compressed audio on my iPod but also to provide high quality uncompressed files to play on my hi-fi rig (old kit but still compara...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
This begs a question Gale: should we have a Feature Request for a Rename Project in the File menu? Would that be: rename the current project, or rename a saved project that isn't currently loaded? If the former, then how is it different from "Save As"? If the latter, then (to do it safely...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
Here is a tip. If you ever do want to rename projects, do it in Audacity with File > Save Project As... . This creates a duplicate project with a different name that will be given to both the AUP file and the _data folder. Then you can delete the original AUP file and _data folder. This begs a ques...

Re: request for help choosing the proper settings
... could you tell me if there is some way, without disrupting the present set-up, which is working for me at long last, to monitor playback from the cassette player while the transfer to the computer is being done? Thank you again. This should be as simple as going to the Transport menu and checki...

Re: Length of file blocked at 30s
You can't change the duration of the tone (highlighted values)? The highlighled number is actually the white one - you can over-type it with a number, the white focus will then move rightwards to the next digit field. Typing a number in the right-most digit will shift the focus back to the left end...

Re: budget usb stick soundcard
Hi Bruno, I still highly value my Sennheiser HD 25-1 headphones. I bought these to pair with my portable Minidisc recorder (sadly taken by a scrote burglar one night) - and they have provided good service ever since - light, comfortable and nicely detailed sound. For travelling (diving holidays main...
