Re: Inverse Scrolling - An incredibly useful new feature

However, I define always a new folder "portable settings" in the alpha version directory. In this way, the production preferences won't be overwritten accidentally. I deal with this on both my W10 laptop and my MAC by a) storing a shortcut on the desktop to the location where the config f...

Re: Inverse Scrolling - An incredibly useful new feature

Hmm. I'm a bit wary of alpha software. Is it possible to download the test code on the same machine as the 2.1.2 production version without compromising the latter? This would let me play around with it without risking production. Yes you can many different Audacities on your PC at any one time - t...

Re: Waveform

Audacity Noise reduction, is this "good enough". Or should I use Goldwave or DeNoise ? Hi Ivan, Audacity's Noise Reduction is a much improved effect over the so-called "Noise Removal" that it replace in Audacity a few releases ago. When we originally released Noise Reduction we ...

Re: Waveform

Those threads are our feedback ;) I used ClickRepair on my vinyl collection (after a steer from Koz, for which I am ever grateful) . Another forum elf Billw58 also used Click Repaire. Gale Andrews favours Goldwave (he doesn't like the fact thar ClickRepair uses Java) . A couple of things I really li...

Re: I cant make it work!

A "seven page manual" is not our Manual - I'm guessing that it is a manual that came with the hardware device you bought and are trying to use - and we know most of thaos hardware Manufacturers' guide to using Audacity with their kit are pretty poor and ofetn wrong (that is what brought me...

Re: No audio on record or playback with El Capitan

Gale -- I downloaded 2.1.1 but it's not being accepted. Got this ridiculous message: "Unidentified developer, security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers...etc." So what should I do now, please? Susan that's just Apple trying to pr...

Re: Using the touchpad for navigation

If you use a Magic Mouse the latest alpha test version of Audacity can use the left/right finger movement on the "control surface" to navigate the Audacity waveform. I don't know if that is the case with 2.1.2 as I only have the alpha on my Mac currently.
