Yes, but as I have pointed out several times, when a user opens a project, Audacity loads several DLLs that are in the same folder as the project too. So, an attacker puts an Audacity project on a network share and makes Users open it. Next to the project is a malicious DLL. Audacity loads that DLL...

In the current version of Audacity use Transport > Append Record - or hold the Shift key and click the Record button or use the shortcut Shift+R In the next release we are changing this so that just pressing Record wikk record on the same track - and the Shift+Record will record on a new track. BTW ...

When I test on my Macbook Pro Sierra macOS 10.12.3 with the Guest account - I install Audacity (and FFmpeg & LAME) on the guest user desktop and they run fine from there.
Of course as soon as you log out from Guest the files and the apps all get deleted.

Because some folk want/need it for surveillance-type recordings - they want to avoid taking up disk space with large amounts of silence.cameronsnicholls81 wrote:For future reference, why is that functionality there if it affects the recording?
