Re: DLLL HIJACKING Audacity 2.1.2

Yes, but as I have pointed out several times, when a user opens a project, Audacity loads several DLLs that are in the same folder as the project too. So, an attacker puts an Audacity project on a network share and makes Users open it. Next to the project is a malicious DLL. Audacity loads that DLL...

And I can't hear any glitches in the posted clips either - but my ears are ageing these days :(

Re: What do you call this sound? Is it possible to fix it?

Well, It makes a I don't know what to call it. Static-like sound? Sorry, I don't know what you mean. I don't know that piece of music, and I don't notice anything obviously "wrong" with it. Nor me, and I am staying out of this. But if you want my opinion, the noise is "action noise&q...

Re: How do you merge tracks?

In the current version of Audacity use Transport > Append Record - or hold the Shift key and click the Record button or use the shortcut Shift+R In the next release we are changing this so that just pressing Record wikk record on the same track - and the Shift+Record will record on a new track. Re: any tips for running Audacity 2.1.2.0 on Guest User acco

When I test on my Macbook Pro Sierra macOS 10.12.3 with the Guest account - I install Audacity (and FFmpeg & LAME) on the guest user desktop and they run fine from there.

Of course as soon as you log out from Guest the files and the apps all get deleted.

cameronsnicholls81 wrote:For future reference, why is that functionality there if it affects the recording?
Because some folk want/need it for surveillance-type recordings - they want to avoid taking up disk space with large amounts of silence.

It already is - I have 2.1.2 2.1.3 and the latest alpha all running sweetly on my Macbook Pro under macOS 10.12.3 Sierra
