Re: Troubles with Audacity and new Macbook Pro with High Sie
The one singular problem that I have now is that Audacity will only stay in the dock only until I reboot the machine, at which point the Audacity icon becomes a question mark and nothing happens when I click on it. I have tried adding and removing Audacity.app to the dock many times, and I am makin...

Re: Digital to CASSETTE ANALOG , Back To Digital.
... Apparently that helps bring in that OLD Analog feel ? My favorite plug-in for recreating the famous of vinyl "analog warmth" is iZotope Vinyl (which you can get for free) it's quite fun to play with: https://www.izotope.com/en/products/create-and-design/vinyl.html Easter-egg hint: try...

Re: First project - Saved Incorrecly
You should not be messing with all those little .au files in that folder - as well as your folder you should also have a file woth extension .aup following the project name you gave it. This is a file that Audacity uses to manage all the littlle .au files for you. And that's the file you should open...

Re: Need to recover project, all files orphaned?
The files are randomly named?? In older Audacity versions, they were. I remember when they did that random thing they were solving a very real production problem whose description escapes me. It's been plaguing performers ever since. Sorry, just frustrated... I can make it worse. The developer dadd...

Re: Timer freezes but recording continues
thanks for the reply Peter. I'm currently using 2.1.1 which works fine on the timer but of course, has no save options. Will keep my eyes open for a fix some time, hopefully. Mike Hi Mike, this puzzles me even more then. :? This bug was reported and logged way before the 2.1.1 you are using - in th...

Re: Timer freezes but recording continues
Sorry, but this is one of our long-standing bugs: https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42 Timer Record carries on recording past the scheduled end, requiring force quit This is logged as a high-priority P2 bug - but if you look at the bug report you will see that is is classified as &qu...

Re: MP3 File Name / options Prefix
Hmmm see what you mean. a) for a start the daye and time come after the trackname and don't prefix it. b) what you can do is to use File > Export Multiple and choose the option to export by tracks rather than labels (nut you will need more than one track for this to work - so you may need a dummy tr...

Re: Recording is very quiet PLEASE HELP
... You’re right, the desktop has 2 fans and is insanely loud, sometimes you can hear it from across the house My old laptop had a fan where the bearing was beginning to fail - making nasty grinding noises. I upgraded recently to a new W10 laptop which has a 256GB SSD and a 1TB spinning metal disk....

Re: MP3 File Name / options Prefix
You don't need a macro - you can do it with Audacity. Go to Edit > Preferences and select the Recording pane. You will see options there for adding date and/or time to the start of new track names. See the bottom of this page in the Manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/recording_preferences.ht...
