Re: Record vs Export Bit Rate Confusion signed 16 vs 32 floa

I wonder why there are two ways to export to WAV instead of just giving all the bit rate options under the File>Save Other>Export as WAV option. That's something that I would favour, but we've had a separate option for 16-bit WAV for many years, and there are always complaints if an old feature is ...

You got it - no change to the audio - just markers (with some level of manipulation)

Re: Does not recognize high pass chain application and crash

There should be a Release Candidate for the upcoming 2.2.1 available soon - so keep your eyes peeled.

You may want to try your chain with that test build (that would be helpful for us to know if it works for you or not).

Re: Overlaying two tracks

See this page in the Manual: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/cre ... sfade.html

There is a section at the bottom with the automated Crossfade Tracks command which mmakes this job easy: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/cro ... racks.html

Re: Does not recognize high pass chain application and crash

There is a bug regrading Chains which we unfortunately found just after releasing 2.2.0. It is fixed for the upcoming 2.2.1 release. Reverting to 2.1.3 should fix the problem - see this related thread: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=97792&p=337324&hilit=version#p3373...

Re: Is this a known undesirable feature?

That's a wave-off. There's a sound overload condition at the very end of the recording requiring no amplification. Translation: there's a very loud sound (0dB) at the very end, which you can't see unless you zoom-in on the end. It's probably the click noise when the recording device was switched of...

Re: Trying to get in touch with Edgar

I am trying to get in touch with forum user Edgar. I have limited use of my arms and am trying to program Dragon NaturallySpeaking and the Omnipedal quad (footpedals) to allow me to edit audio in audacity. It sounds like Edgar has extensive experience using Dragon to navigate audacity. If you click...

OK so I updated the Recording page in the Manual for the upcoming 2.2.1 release with an image: https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/Recording#Recording_on_the_same_track And I adding some text and links to that section containing the image: https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/Playing_and_Re...

Re: Vertical lines appears

It's a clip line - it's intended to be there to show the different parts of your recording. As you've already discovered you can remove it by clicking on it -good that means that that is "discoverable" (something we strive for) :) See this page in the Manual to read about clip lines and cl...

Re: Error message

I've just completed editing a playlist of wav files, and now receive this message :Internal error at Sequence.cpp line 1828. Please inform the Audacity team at https://forum.audacityteam.org/ Precisely which Audacity command caused that message to appear? Full steps to reproduce would be even more ...
