Re: Error after editing.
Hey no problem, pleased I could help, although finding faults is the easiest job in the world, it's fixing them that takes real work! As a footnote, I reopened the damaged 'test' file to see if I could do anything with it and found that if I chose the third option on the error message 'replace miss...

Re: Version 2.1.3 (and 2.2.1) hangs up on "Timer Record"
Hi Wayne, thanks for that YT video - the only thing I can see you doing differently to me is that you are only choosing the automatic export and not the automatic save - I usually select both. I will experiment doing that to see if I can reproduce this (Im a bit busy on other stuff right now - but I...

Re: A2.2.1 Win10: "Amplifiy" Validation error
I cannot reproduce this on W10 even with incredibly low signal levels throughout. The only way I can get a wobbly is to have a track or selection of pure silence and try to amplify that - for which I need to check the Allow clipping . What I get then is the error message: Validation Error: Value Ove...

Re: Error after editing.
Ah good, at least you've found something! I've always hit the 'Save project as...' command simply as a matter of habit, I don't think I've ever clicked on 'save project...'. Why not get used to using the shortcut Ctrl+S (shortcut for "File>Save") - I always find that much easier. WC BTW t...

Re: apply chain to files only displays 8 seconds
From looking at the Commit log it looks like one of the developers (Paul Licameli) has made a patch for this for 2.2.2: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/commit/0c8890cda16d2c918040b8af1d1d74a2d4e5082c The issue was already logged as Bug #1793: Automatic zoom to fit of imported audio does not wor...

Re: Version 2.1.3 hangs up after 12 seconds on "timer record
Turbofiat, are you recording from an FM Tuner feeding an external USB soundcard to feed the PC? Or are you recording a webstream? Peter WC, I have the issue trying to record a timed event from computer line in or a webstream. I'm totally foxed Wayne. I can't get this to happen with 2.1.2 on: a) Win...

Re: Still 32-bit?
Change Tempo takes more time the more you negatively stretch. If I take a one hour show and change it by -20% it takes around 14 seconds If it change it by -50% it takes 23 seconds If it change it by -75% it takes 88 seconds If it change it by -90% it takes 3 and a bit minutes If it change it by -99...

Re: Help With Importing mp4
We at Aydacity don't make "how-to" videos (they get out of date too quickly) - and most you find on the internet can be wildly inaccurate. Instead follow the instruction from this page in the Audacity Manual: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_and_updating_audacity_on_windows.h...

Re: Version 2.1.3 hangs up after 12 seconds on "timer record
On my Windows 10 machine I was using an old AM/FM/SW radio with a mono to stereo adapter plugged from the earphone jack into the line in Port on the computer. And set to record on mono. On my XP machine I was using my cell phone but a stereo 3.5mm cable. OK so no USB device just the onboard soundca...
