Re: command for "shift + tab" in chain command

We're working on upgrading Chains for 2.3.0 - and re-branding them as Macros

You''l be delighted to know that we're adding a load more commands for Macros - ans even better you get Move to Next Label and Move to Previous Label

2.3.0 is currently scheduled for mid-July

... we're not even figuring out how to run Macros in the Mac version. Screenshots we're finding seem to correlate to other versions. The images on these pages should be reasonably up to date - they're certainly not old 2.2.2 and earlier Chains images: https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/Manage...

That's one of the worst places to store your projects and audio files - that's what the Mac Documents folder is for

Re: Ideal settings for Cassette

This workflow from the Audacity Manual gives a recommended set of steps: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/sam ... ation.html

And this article in the Wiki is useful too: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Reco ... m_Cassette

Re: New User: How to delete portions of a file

The easiest way to do this is to just select the portion you want and then use Edit > Remove Special > Trim Audio or its shortcut Ctrl + T - or the Trim button in the Edit Toolbar or if you do want to do it in two steps 1) move cursor to the first edit point 2) use Shift and the "Cursor to home...

Re: Filename of a selected audio track at export time

Is there any way to export a specific audio track with its track name automatically taken as exported filename ? Not that I know of. But - I was right in my thinking that with Export Multiple (indeed all Exports) Audacity does not export any tracks that are muted. So I can suggest a couple of worka...

Re: Filename of a selected audio track at export time

The File>Export Multiple option sounds good for the exporting with the track name as filename, except it applies to all tracks in the audacity open window rather than concerning only selected tracks. Am I right ? Fundamentally I think you are right - but I have a suspicion that Audacity will not ex...

Re: Collapsed track only shows half the wave

And I've tested this today on my Mac and it works just fine and dandy.

Also you'll probably be please to know that the default for the half-size is "off" - so by default you get both halves of the waveform in a collapsed track.
