Re: Export tracks without losing relative time?
That’s incredible, I really appreciate you putting it on the list. Any time is better than never. It's been bothering (some of) us for a long while now - it's just that no-one had gotten around to putting in the thinking time required. Hopefully we can get it sorted now that we have articulated the...

Re: Export tracks without losing relative time?
Steve and I discussed this at length yesterday - an as a result of that I have logged this issue on our bugtracker: https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1904 We probably do not have time to address this for the upcoming 2.3.0 release - but hopefully we may be able to for the subsequent ...

Re: Close after application.
OIC it is the effects with Real Time Preview (RTP) that have the " Close " and " Apply " buttons - this was done, I think, so that the RTP could be tested then applied (leaving the RTP effect open) and even retested and reapplied - hence the need for the " Close " butto...

Re: Using Stop rewinds to beginning or selection point
For a start that's a very old version of Audacity - the latest release is 2.2.2 which you can get from here: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ and 2.3.0 will be out soon (hopefully) In these later versions there is a new command: Transport > Play/Stop and Set Cursor (or its shortcut X ) to ...

Re: Export tracks without losing relative time?
Note that embedded white space between audio clips is treated as (an made into) silence on Export - which means that if tou re-imported such an audio file you would see silences rather than white space. And if we did treat white space before audio as silence the export, followed ny a later import wo...

Re: Export tracks without losing relative time?
And worse still we don't even tell folks about this "feature" in the Manual on either the Mixing page of the Export page. Gale (RIP) added an ednote on the Mixing page about this six-and-a-half years ago (I added a similar note to the Export page this morning) . So if we don't change the b...

Re: Project Automatic Recovery Fail
And in the upcoming Audacity 2,3,0 you will get a new command that will be useful: Save Lossless Copy of Project, see: https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/File_Menu:_Save_Project#save_lossless_copy_of_project This is similar to using Save As - but leaves your existing project open and active ra...

Re: Metadata Error: Unknown text information frame
Any idea as to when it will be released, or about when it supposed to be released? It's scheduled for release in a couple of months time, but it'll be a while after that before it is in Ubuntu's repository. Ah, but since this user also has a Windows machine they will be able to update that platform...

Re: Project Automatic Recovery Fail
Automatic crash recovery works fine for me on my W10 laptop with the current 2.2.2 released version and the alpha test version for the upcoming 2.3.0 release. You can easily test it yourself: 1) Open Audacity 2) record or import some audio 3) force-quit Audacity from the windows Task Manager (effeci...
