Re: Audacity do not work on windows
This only happens on some Windows machines - in my case my two laptops download and run the 2.3.0 alpha just fine - but my notebook has that issue and wont run the 2.3.0 alphas. This is a known Priority 1 bug - which is potentially blocking the release - it is a " must-fix " - see: https:/...

Re: recording from mixer/decks
Does that mixer have a phono pre-amp as part of it. If not you need one - I use the Artcessories ART DJPRE II Phono Preamplifier: http://www.artproaudio.com/product/djpre-ii-phono-preamplifier/ you need the phono pre-amp not just to provide amplification ti line-level but also to provide the RIAA eq...

Re: Feature Request - Play/Stop
It's also made me look more closely at this related bug https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1366 Using the sliders in Mixer Toolbar in a Project-2 alters levels in on-going recording (or playback) in Project-1 And I just upgraded that from P3 to P2 as a result, to give it more focus WC

Re: Feature Request - Play/Stop
This is basically the residual bug of this longstanding bug: https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=234 Personally I think the current behavior is perhaps "correct" - I would expect to have to stop play in one project (and not even just pause it, as in Bug 234) before being able...

Re: Taking too long to open projects, jamming a lot
I have a history of slow loading/navigating audacity especially with very large files. Me too - but my big improvement came when I shifted from my old Tosh laptop with a spinning metal disk - to a whizzy new hi-spec HP Emcy with a 256 GB SSD - a BIG speed improvement with Auadacity on the 2-3 hour ...

Re: Ambient noise while recording vinyl
Also ensure that Windows hasn't disabled your USB device 1) Right click on the little loudspeaker in the System Tray at bottom right of your Windows Screen 2) select Sounds 3) click on the recording tab 4) If you can't see the USB device listed that means that Windows can't see it - which means you ...

Re: skip save project nag box
I'm trying to limit the number of times I have to switch from keyboard to mouse Yes the " Yes " is the default in that message and that is intentional to encourage saving of projects so they don't lose their work. You should be able to work it from the keyboard without the mouse - just us...
