Re: How to continue playing from newly set cursor position without stopping playback

You need to use Timeline Quickplay.

Try clicking in the Timeline rather than moving the cursor in the waveform.

Re: Overdub - change to the Manual

Hi Sean, I have made the changes to the 2.3.1 development Manual (I cannot change the released 2.3.0 manual as we cannot make edits after a release is made) . Yo can see the tip that I added to the top level overdubbing page here: https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/Tutorial_-_Recording_Multi-t...

Re: Overdub - change to the Manual

We changed the Record behaviour a few releases ago. Earlier Audacity used to record on a new track by default - and you had to use Shift+Record (or Shift+R ) to record on the same existing track. I may be wrong, but my understanding is that when using WASAPI loopback it remains digital throughout, mot using th...

I tested the fix yesterday in the alpha test build and we have restored the timings to their previous levels (see attached spreadsheet) Bug thread: https://bu...

Re: Slow work.

Hi юра00 yes you are absolutely right - from some extensive testing I did today with 1 15 minute stereo project on my W10 laptop and my Mojave MacBook Pro (both fast SSD machines) it looks like something happened in 2.3.0 to slow down all the Nyquist Effects and Generators. It does not affect the Bu...

Re: No Sound

BUT 2.3.0 does not run on XP (and we no longer support Audacity on XP) - and that is what this user apparently has.
