Re: Play without Recording

You do also have to turn on monitoring in the Recording Meter - just click in the meter (you should see "Click to start monitoring" there)

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

oh, and will you be providing a "Professional Fade In" too? You could reverse a selection, apply the Professional Fade Out effect, then reverse it again Cute trick that, pogo-stump :ugeek: but I think I'll stick with Steve's suggestion of multiple fade-ins - it's quicker that way 8-) WC

Re: Professional sounding fade out.

You can see my response to waxcylinder in this post: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=185364#p185364 And Waxcylinder confirms that Steve's solution of repeating the fade-in works a treat - I normally do a 3xfade-in And to make my life easier I have assigned custom shortcuts for the St...

Sounds like that is a feature and not a bug. Could you explain why macros are disabled?
Most things are disabled during recording - recording is seen as a critical non-interruptable activity in Audacity.

Re: audio sync with labels

Have a read of this page from the Manual: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/sync_locked_track_groups.html It explains (or at least I, as the editor of that page, hope it does) how to achieve multiple sync-locked groups each delimited by a label track - there is a picture on that page to aid unders...

Re: very low mic input since updated to 2.3

I know that "beta" versions of software are early releases for testing mainly, as they are exected to have bugs. While "alpha" the final tested versions. how come Audacity has its versions the other way around?... I'm afraid not - in all the develpment circles I've ever moved in...
