Re: How to search Audacity Manual

Do you realize that the image of the Audacity interface on the front page of the manual is a clickable imagemap enabling you to drill to the appropriate page ?

Re: Pop-up Warning?

It means you are getting droputs (as Bill's post leads you to).

You can always tick the little checkbox for "Turn off dropout detection" - you are still likely to be getting dropouts you just won't be told about them.

Re: Automatic noise reduction

Audacity Noise Reduction will dump the profile if you restart the program, right? I believe that to be the case. IIRC there has been some discussion in the past about storing a noise profile (t be retained on exit from Audacity) but nothing eve progressed along those lines. Would you want to lobby ...

Yes, I am trying to install the 64-bit version. Should I just install the 32-bit version instead?
Yes for 2.3/0 you need the 32-bit library.

You can leave the 64-bit library installed - it will do no harm to 2.3.0 and will come in handy when you upgrade to the upcoming 64-bit 2.3.1 Audacity.

Thanks. It looks a little complicated to get going, but maybe I'll re-visit it down the road.

Re: Cannot import or open m4a files to audacity

For Audacity 2.3.0 (and earlier) you need the 32-bit libraries which are lower down the download page. The 64-bit libraries are for the soon to be upcoming Audacity 2.3.1 which will be 64-bit, WC 64 stands for 64 bits. Silly me  So the problem for me really was that Quicktime is not supported ...
