that floating palette does not interact with my Desktop icons in any way. Does it for you? I've never experinced that when using the palette - which is not often, only when I was testing Macros for James a couple of releases ago. Peter. What do you mean by "macro-palette"?

It's the top menu item in Tools > Apply Macro

It's the floating palette of available macros.

If I can somehow turn off the track selection from clicking the neutral grey area and just use the select button instead, that will be wonderful! :D That can't be turned off. But I like that idea - and I'd vote for it being "off" by default. Those who really need/want this for muscle-memo...
