Re: How to default open Fit to Width

When I open an Audacity project - sometimes it opens full-width on the Audacity Window and sometimes it is zoomed out so that the full length of the project occupies about 1/2 to 2/3 of the available window, with blank gray space to the right. The zoom level is saved in the project when you save th...

Re: Losing first ~90% of data

Do you Save the empty project before you start the recording ? This is very good practice (especially for long recordings - like your two hours). Re: My Feedback/Usage

Thanks for the feedback. I used Brian Davies' ClickRepair app when I converted my LPs and 45s (the 45s had a hard life in an old jukebox - that my son now has ) See: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1994 I discovered ClickRepair not long after I had carefully restored by hand ...

Re: Audacity Out to USB In Allen & Heath ZED436

Use File>Export to export an audio file in the required format - wither directly exported to a USB stick - or to your computer and then copied to the USB stick.

Re: Audacity stops recording during silence

OK so I spent some time updating a couple of relevant pages in the Manual 1) The Device Toolbar page - where I added a bit about WASAPI loopback pausing with no active signal https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/Device_Toolbar#Audio_Host 2) The tutrila on recording computer playback. I added a s...

Re: Audacity stops recording during silence

A lot of the buttons and drop down menus on the toolbars are greyed out. The green upside-down triangle that says "Click to Pin" turns red. An audio track appears that reads (stereo, 44100Hz,32-bit float). There is a red upside down triangle on the timeline action bar to follow the record...
