Default frequencies are 3000 and 13000. Try those first.

This will check your hearing. 13000 is getting into the high-pitch tonal range where older people lose it.

I regret to say v.3.0.2 has not fixed this issue. I just tested on W10 with 3.0.2 and the latest alpha test build that I have and Change Tempo works fine for me (and does not crash) on a one hour stereo project. And works fine on 3.0.0 too.
