There is a known regression bug that affects most Nyquist effects, which fail now on longer sections of audio.
See: https://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2708
We aim to have this fixed for the upcoming 3.0.1

Re: Can someone sell Audacity??
It is legal to sell open source software. Vendors are free to bundle Audacity with their products, or to sell or distribute copies of Audacity (see Vendors and Distributors of Audacity) under the GNU General Public License (GPL). If you are interested in bundling, selling or distributing Au...

Re: Tool selection
but maybe in ver 3.0.1 there could be the option to create a "Startup" Macro that executes automatically when you run Audacity. That way each user could set defaults within the Macro that they prefer to be active at startup. It would also enable user to set the default tool they want to work with, ...

Re: Can't import .m4a file
Curious. I believe buanzo just updated his site for the very same reason for Windows. See: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=417441#p417441 Peter, can you help on this one, too? Steve and I are working with Buanzo on this - our aim is to have a separate Audacity-only page on his websit...

Re: Timer record not stopping
I just tested Timer Record with 2.4.2 and 3.0.0 on my Macbook Pro macOS 11.2.3 Big Sur - and it works fine at both starting and stopping at the designated time. Are you sure you set the end time correctly - it's a bit to easy to sometimes incorrectly set the end time timblers so that you end up reco...

Re: Tool selection
OK, I can modify my routines, but when using Audacity manually I now 'know' that I have the wrong tool selected and have to explicitly change it, which is very very annoying when trying to review large numbers of files. Pardon me but I find this improvement somewhat tedious. Sorry, but we are not g...

Re: Python Script for Ripping Vinyl with Audacity
Looks cute - but sadly came far too late for me ...
I did all my vinyl rips a dozen or so years ago - my labeling for song exports was all manual hard labour
