A while back we changed it so that just Record - recorded on the exeisting selected track.

So now to record on a new track you need to use Shift + Record or shortcut Shift + R

On my W10 laptop I get the same as Koz on his Mac

1) Select all the tracks - Ctrl+A shortcut
2) Effect > Amplify
3) type -2 in the Amplification field
4) Click OK
5) result: all tracks reduced by -2db
