Re: New Envelope tool glitch

There are two issues that you raise here. 1. The Envelope I have just tested on my W10 laptop with both the released 2.3.2 and the latest test alpha test build I got yesterday for the upcoming 2.3.3 On both versions my envelope points behave as expected, remaining precisely where I place them - so y...

Re: Audacity Slow & High CPU

In the course of QA testing I run many different versions of Audacity (current 2.3.2, older versions as far back as 1.2.6 and alpha test builds for the upcoming 2.3.3) on three different W10 PCs - 2 new SSD disks and an old slow laptop with a spinning metal disk. My W10 OSs are always set to acceept...

Re: Noise reduction.

Cool. So now all we need is: [X] Save Profile. Koz Workaround: just create a little project that just has your "preferred" noise in it - then you can always open that up first grab your noise profile wnd then Ctrl+N (or Cmd+N for Macophytes) to open a new project - carrying that noise pro...

Re: Making mp3 quality ringtones better

The speakers on the computer are designed to reproduce music and voice. The sound system on a smartphone is designed to reproduce ring tones, so the problem is recursive. Not so true these days Koz. I carry my entire music library on my Samsung Galaxy S9 (usually for headphone or Bluetooth speaker ...

I believe the profile setting "sticks" after the first time as long as you don't close Audacity.
I think (in fact I know) you believe right Koz :geek:

One of the earlier versions (before 2.3.2) had problems with Save As:.
That was version 2.1.3
I thought it was 2.2.0 and 2.2.1 - but anyway, it's certainly fixed now in 2.3.2

Re: Audacity timer record progress

That was a bug in Audacity which is fixed now in 2.3.2 (may even have been a slightly earlier version - I don't recall right now) But it certainly works properly on my W10 laptop with 2.3.2 and with the alpha test build I have for the upcoming 2.3.3 - stopping properly at the pre-set time. I use it ...

Re: Labels Editor: Okay, Okay! (suggestion for manual)

We have an upcoming (un)conference for Audacity Team members - I'm hoping to find some time there to discuss the Labels Editor GUI. Updating the Manual page will take me a bit of time as I will have to update all the images on the page -as the existing ones are ftrom a very old version of Audacity (...

Ah what shame ,I was hoping there was a magic solution

Thank you and I don’t mean to sound rude but your solution does not sound practical
Backups at key editing stages are very "practical" - far better than losing all your valuable data that you've been working on ...
