Re: punch and roll adds a bit of waveform at split point

Actually today I have broadened out this to be a multi-platform bug.

Testing on W10 and careful examination of the resultant waveform shows that i can sometimes, but not always, get a very small glitch here too at the start of the Punch&Roll re-record.

Re: Disabling yellow Boundary Snap Guides

Your puzzlement is puzzling. Seems fairly obvious why this slows people down. My puzzlement is because you were commenting on "Disabling yellow Boundary Snap Guides" as the title of this thread suggests. My puzzlement is because I totally fail to see how a "yellow Boundary Snap Guide...

Re: Hesitation When I Hit "Play"

I get this - but only sometimes and only on one of my W10 PCs and not the other. For me the silence is about 2 seconds - you can see the play cursor advancing for 2 secs. with silent playback until the audio starts at about 3 secs=. Press Stop and Play and playback starts immediately :? It's not jus...

Re: Catalina microphone issue with Audacity

So, I gather it would be best to not upgrade to Catalina? That's what we're recommending for now on our Website https://www.audacityteam.org/download/ And our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/AudacityTeamOfficial/ I'm not taking the risk at the moment - and I'm an Audacity QA bod :geek: Peter

Re: Catalina microphone issue with Audacity

The fact that it seems to affect recording (for microphones and USB devices as others report) suggests that it may be down to driver issues.

Re: punch and roll adds a bit of waveform at split point

Yes, I think you're right - and I think it's a bug (I shall be logging it). I get a short loud squelch/screech when I test on my MacbookPro with Mojave 10.14.6 a) It's not a regression - I get the same on 2.3.2, 2.3.1 and 2.3.0 (and even on the alpha test build I have for 2.1.3) b) This does not hap...

Secondly, is there a way to automatically stop recordings and save them, using Audacity? Or is this a manual process?
you can use Timer Record to do this.

See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/timer_record.html
